Solutions for

Employers

The Transparency in Coverage Rule and No Surprises Act are intended to create a remarkable new consumer-first healthcare marketplace through which your company and covered employees can greatly benefit.

A new, efficient marketplace for shopping medical services and items will enable your employees to choose their preferred option based on their personal considerations related to price, quality, and convenience most often, and importantly, before healthcare purchasing decisions are made.

Billions of dollars every year will remain in American households and on company balance sheets, a result of lower out-of-pocket costs and plan year expenditures. The potential for employer and insured savings may be especially significant with high deductible plans, HSAs and HRAs. This legislation may not be good for providers who overcharge for health care, but may be very good for you.

Ensuring Compliance with the No Surprises Act and Transparency in Coverage Rule

Employers risk fines up to $100 per member per day, or approximately $87,000 per enrolled member per year for non-compliance with the Transparency in Coverage Rule or the No Surprises Act. While enforcement may not commence until mid-2022 or sometime thereafter, the No Surprises Act calls for compliance, including an internet-based consumer self-service tool, beginning on January 1, 2022. Risk-conscious employers should quickly seek a full compliance solution. The opportunity to reduce employer and insured expenditures offers additional incentive to proceed without delay.

TALON’s MyMedicalShopper™ consumer self-service tool served as the prototype for these federal mandates. It fulfills all requirements of the Transparency in Coverage Rule and the No Surprises Act that apply to you.
